More than 1,200 donors combined to invest over $2.1 million in scholarships through the third annual Pirate Club Pledge Day initiative, highlighted by a strong finish on the Jan. 23 deadline.

Anyone who made a pledge from Jan. 1-23 earned double priority points on payments applied toward their 2026 membership. On the final day of the campaign alone, Pirate Club members pledged $464,701.

Overall, Pirate Club Pledge Day generated $205,000 more in pledges than the same period last year and saw an increase of 105 donors year over year.

“We are extremely grateful for the continued support of our Pirate Club members,” Pirate Club Executive Director Ryan Robinson said. “With recent shifts in collegiate athletics, funding scholarships remains a top priority, allowing us to provide our student-athletes with a world-class experience while they are on campus. We are excited about the momentum we are carrying into 2026 and are planning exciting initiatives as we continue to grow our membership.”

The goal of the Pirate Club Pledge Day is to bring awareness to the IMPACT FUND while encouraging members to renew their Pirate Club membership for 2026 during the month of January. The IMPACT FUND provides the financial resources necessary to help ECU student-athletes earn their degree while competing at the highest level.

Donations to the IMPACT FUND provide annual Pirate Club membership benefits, including ticket and parking priority, while directly supporting athletic scholarships. Annual memberships start at just $100, and monthly payment plans are available by contacting the Pirate Club offices at (252) 737-4540. Additional membership levels are outlined in the 2026 Membership Packet.

Donors may also earn double priority points by donating to the Athletics Excellence Fund or the Purple & Gold Society.  The Pirate Club currently has 72 members of the Purple & Gold Society, comprised of individuals who have pledged a minimum $25,000 over five years. A complete list of Purple & Gold Society members can be found here.
