Here’s a name we haven’t heard much about lately: former East Carolina wide receiver Jaylen Johnson.
He’s with the San Diego Chargers and is hoping to make the squad again this season. He was a rookie last season and didn’t get any catches. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound receiver is now among a crowded field of pass catchers looking to make the team.
According to Chargers.com, there are eight tight ends and 11 other receivers besides Johnson. Ladd McConkey broke the Chargers’ franchise rookie records for catches ad receiving yards last season and became quarterback Justin Herbert’s favorite target. After that, all bets are off as to who will remain with the team.
