East Carolina golf alum Harold Varner III shifts his focus to the LIV Golf Virginia tournament that begins on Friday. This comes after he missed the cut at US Open qualifying on Monday in Durham.
Varner III shot a +5 overall with rounds of 71 and 74 at Duke University Golf Club in Durham. The cutoff line to qualify was -3, which three golfers shot to make the US Open.
The three-day LIV Golf Virginia tournament will be held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. Varner and the rest of the 4Aces GC team will tee off Friday morning.
Varner sits 23rd overall in the LIV Golf standings with 29.95 points. He’s right on the tail-end of the standings with 4Aces GC teammate Thomas Pieters.
