Harold Varner III tied for 28th after first round of LIV Golf Chicago

ECU golf alum Harold Varner III starts Round 2 of the LIV Golf Chicago event tied for 28th overall.

He is at +1, tied with 12 other golfers. His 4Aces GC teammate, Dustin Johnson, is tied with Sergio Garcia for the lead at -4. Phil Mickelson is among six others tied, one shot back.

Varner started the round at No. 10 and was -1 through the first three holes. However, bogeys at No. 13 and No. 15 followed by one at No. 1 put him in a hole. He got a birdie back at No. 7.
