Harold Varner III tied for 23rd after first round of LIV Hong Kong

ECU alum Harold Varner III is tied for 23rd place after the opening round of the LIV Golf Hong Kong event, which started Friday morning.

Varner is tied with six others at 3-under-par. He made birdies on four holes.

4Aces GC, the team he’s on with Dustin Johnson, Thomas Peters and Patrick Reed were at 1-under-par and sat 12th out of 13 teams after the first round.

Paul Casey had a bogey-free 7-under 63 to lead the field after the first round.
