Former ECU star RJ Felton continues to draw interest as NBA draft nears

by | May 28, 2025

The NBA draft is scheduled for June 25, and interest in former East Carolina guard RJ Felton continues to grow.

HoopsHype.com writer Cyro Asseo de Choch wrote a profile on him, pointing out his recent success at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament and comparisons to Gary Payton II. In the interview, Felton spoke about how players like Dwyane Wade and Michael Jordan influenced him to reach the next level in his hoops career.

When asked about what mentality he had to play so aggressively, Felton said, “Well, I just came in thinking like, hey, it’s now or never. I just came in showing what I can do. And I was like, I’m just gonna treat it like a regular game of basketball and see where the chips fall.”
