For the second time this season, East Carolina guard Jordan Riley has been named the American Conference Player of the Week while also earning Lute Olson Award National Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.

Riley helped guide the Pirates to two wins last week over UTSA and Memphis, averaging 29 points, eight rebounds and four steals per game on 51.4 percent shooting from the floor, 60 percent shooting from three and 76.2 percent shooting from the free throw line. Riley’s six steals against UTSA tied a single-game career-high for the senior and marked the second time this year he recorded six steals in a game.

His 31 points and 12 rebounds in East Carolina’s 84-68 win over Memphis on Mar. 1 marked his fourth double-double of the year and seventh game this season with 30 or more points, which is second best in the country. Riley is the first Pirate since Jayden Gardner in 2019-20 to earn American Conference Player of the Week honors multiple times in the same season.
The Lute Olson award is presented annually to the top player in Division I college basketball. The award voting panel is made up of current Division I coaches, athletic administrators, and senior College Insider staff members. Previous winners of the weekly award this season include Duke’s Cameron Boozer, Texas Tech’s J.T. Toppin, BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, Arizona’s Koa Peat and Houston’s Kingston Flemings.
Riley and the Pirates host Tulsa in Minges Coliseum on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2/U.
