The ECU star was selected to play in the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game as a member of the Keene Swamp Bats. He’s been playing for them this summer.
On Monday, he made the most of it, driving in the team’s first run in a 3-1 win over the South Division. He was named the game’s MVP for his performance. He finished 1-for-3 at the plate.
Shaun McKenna, Herring’s manager in the All-Star Game and at Keene, had high praise for him.
“He is a phenomenal young man, but he’s been on a tear lately,” McKenna said. “He was a unanimous selection, only hitting .280, but now he’s up to .320. So for him to start us off with a double, run scored, and RBI, it’s great for our organization. I’m so happy for him.”
