GREENVILLE, N.C. (01/30/2026) — Let’s play “Family Feud!” East Carolina University staff member Tessie Sherod recently participated in the popular American game show “Family Feud,” featuring host Steve Harvey.
Sherod, an administrative specialist in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Biology, played the game with her extended family from Greenville, Williamston, Bear Grass, Atlanta and Conyers, Georgia.
“Being on ‘Family Feud’ was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Sherod said. “Being able to play a game show that I have watched since I was a little girl was awesome.”
Sherod said the family played in honor of Eva Peele Speller, Sherod’s late grandmother, who raised her.
“She was a ‘Family Feud’ fan and loved Steve Harvey,” Sherod said. “She passed January 31, 2021, from COVID, and was never able to get on the show, which was a dream of hers. So, to be able to go on the show and honor her was just the best experience.”
The Peele family’s appearance begins airing on Feb. 3.Check your television listings or streaming services for times and locations for the broadcast.
