ECU men’s basketball announces 2026-27 nonconference schedule

The ECU men’s basketball program announced its nonconference schedule for the 2026-27 season on Monday.

For the sixth straight year, the East Carolina men’s basketball team will open its season inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum where the Pirates will face USC Upstate on Nov. 2 as part of its non-conference slate which was announced on Monday.

The Pirates’ season opener will be subsequently followed by a trio of home games including a pair against in-state opponents in UNCW (Nov. 7) and NC A&T (Nov. 11) and followed by Delaware State (Nov. 14).

ECU will then hit the road as the Pirates are slated to compete in the 2026 Paradise Jam, which will be held in the U.S. Virgin Islands at Saint Thomas and will run from Nov. 20-23. The Pirates will open the tournament up with a matchup against Utah Valley on Nov. 20. It will be ECU’s first appearance in the Paradise Jam since 2009.

The team closes out the month of November at home against NC Wesleyan (Nov. 27/28) to begin a four-game homestand that includes games against Richmond (Dec. 1), Radford (Dec. 5) and Coastal Carolina (Dec. 9).

ECU’s final stretch of non-conference play consists of a road contest at App State (Dec. 13) and back-to-back home games against Campbell (Dec. 18) and Virginia University of Lynchburg (Dec. 21) before the holiday break.

Game times and television assignments along with a finalized American Conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
