East Carolina baseball earned its second preseason ranking of the year on Monday afternoon, as Baseball America placed the Pirates at No. 24 in its latest poll. The Pirates were also recently ranked No. 25 by Perfect Game.
ECU returns 21 players from its Conference Tournament Championship run, including seven regular starters and four All-Americans. Entering the 2025 Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed, the Pirates flipped the script with an undefeated 4–0 performance, securing a berth in the NCAA Tournament and capturing their fourth conference tournament title of the Cliff Godwin era.
Notable opponents on the 2026 schedule are also represented in the rankings, including No. 7 North Carolina (Feb. 20–22), No. 17 Coastal Carolina (March 6–8), and No. 22 NC State (April 14 & 28).
The countdown to Pirate baseball is fully underway with 25 days until the first pitch of the 2026 season on Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium against Xavier on February 13.
