CFL opener could create some issues on OL for Stanley Bryant, Winnipeg

by | Jun 11, 2025

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were off during Week 1 of the CFL season. It didn’t help the injury issue that plagues the team.

The Blue Bombers open their season on Thursday against the British Columbia Lions. The bye week was a good one for Winnipeg because the team is dealing with injuries on the offensive line. However, the problem persists.

ECU alum and veteran OL Stanley Bryant is healthy and will start at tackle. However, teammate Eric Lofton is out for at least six games after starting all 18 last season. At least two other OL are game-time decisions as of Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday’s game will not feature BC Lions linebacker and fellow ECU alum Jeremy Lewis. He is listed on the one-game injury list. He had a defensive tackle and a special teams tackle in last week’s 26-16 loss to Calgary.
