Justin Hardy and Ottawa will look to turn things around Thursday at home against Calgary.
The ECU alum and the Red Blacks were off last week, nursing a 1-6 start to the season. While Hardy has played well, the team has struggled and is tied with Edmonton for the worst record.
Hardy is sixth in the league in catches (33) for 361 yards and a touchdown.
While he’s back in action, Winnipeg OL and fellow Pirate Stanley Bryant will miss his third straight game with an ankle injury. He only missed four games in his career before the injury. It’s anticipated this is his final season before retiring. He’s regarded as one of the top players at his position in league history.
Here’s the latest on the other ECU alumni in the CFL:
- DaShaun Amos, DB, Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Team has won five straight and is 5-2 on the season. They play at Edmonton (1-5) on Saturday at 3 p.m. He has 16 tackles and an interception this season.
- Stanley Bryant, OL, Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Will miss his third straight game with an ankle injury
- Justin Hardy, WR, Ottawa Red Blacks: Has 33 catches for 361 yards and a touchdown. Ottawa is 1-6 and hosts Calgary (5-2) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
- Tyler Snead, WR, Montreal Alouettes: Has 31 catches for 440 yards and a touchdown
- Jeremy Lewis, Edge, BC Lions: Played in season opener and recorded a tackle. Missed two games with an injury. Hasn’t played in previous two games
- Hampton Ergle, OL, Toronto Argonauts: Has played in one game this season.
- Parker Moorer, OL, Ottawa Red Blacks: Currently on the practice squad
