East Carolina baseball alum and Toronto Blue Jays prospect Trey Yesavage is thriving in the minors so far this season.
After a strong start in Low-A Dunedin, he was promoted to High-A Vancouver. He’s currently 3-0 with a 2.17 ERA in 45.2 innings with 79 strikeouts. As Vanessa Serrao writes for LastWordOnSports.com, “His major league ETA is sometime in the 2026 season. His dominant pitching is making him a huge success story in the minors. However, even before his promotion, he showed himself to be the real deal.”
Serrao breaks down Yesavage’s pitching and how he’s effectively used a fastball, slider and splitter to his benefit. “His fastball can top at 95 mph when it is paired with a strong slider and splitter. The up-and-coming rookie is 6-foot-4, and 225 pounds. His build gives him an intimidating mound presence and also indicates that he can take on a significant workload.”
