Former East Carolina University student-athletes Kevin and Addie Miller, including their children Rylee and Sevie, have made a Legacy Gift to the Pirates Unite Campaign, further strengthening the future of ECU Athletics through an investment in two transformational facility projects.

The Millers’ gift will support the new golf building currently under construction at Ironwood Golf & Country Club and the Isley Performance Center, a state-of-the-art facility scheduled to open later this year for use by all Pirate student-athletes.

The Miller family has deep roots in Pirate Athletics and has continued to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to East Carolina long after their playing careers concluded. Addie Miller was a four-year member of the ECU softball program as a catcher, helping lead the Pirates to 199 victories during her career. She was part of the 1999 team that became the first in program history to earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament. She earned both a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from East Carolina.

Kevin Miller enjoyed one of the most decorated careers in ECU Athletics history and was inducted into the ECU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019. A four-year letterman on the football team from 1999-2002, he graduated as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 287 career points as a placekicker while setting 16 school kicking and scoring records. He earned Freshman All-America and All-Conference USA honors during his career and was also a two-year letterman on the Pirates golf team. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications.

“Addie and I are honored to have an opportunity to give back to a place that shaped who we are both personally and professionally,” Kevin Miller said. “The opportunities we were given as student-athletes opened doors that continue to impact our lives today. These facilities will provide current and future Pirates with the resources they need to succeed. East Carolina will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we’re proud to invest in its future. Our family bleeds purple and gold.”

Today, Kevin serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Royal Group (TRG), a leading packaging and display solutions company.

“Kevin and Addie have represented East Carolina University with tremendous pride for decades, first as outstanding student-athletes and now as philanthropic leaders,” Pirate Club Executive Director Ryan Robinson said. “Their commitment to investing in the future of ECU Athletics speaks volumes about what this University means to them. Gifts like this ensure that future generations of Pirate student-athletes have access to championship-level facilities and the resources necessary to compete at the highest level. We are incredibly grateful to the Miller family for believing in our vision and leaving a lasting legacy through the Pirates Unite Campaign.”

The Pirates Unite Campaign continues to transform ECU Athletics through strategic investments in student-athlete support, championship-level facilities and long-term program sustainability. The Isley Indoor Performance Center and new golf building represent two of the campaign’s signature projects and will provide lasting benefits for current and future Pirate student-athletes.
