Earlier this week, Nick Kurtz of the Athletics and Drake Baldwin of the Braves were named 2025 Rookie of the Year in the American League and National League.
So now, who will be the top candidates for 2026?
ECU baseball alum Trey Yesavage leads the way in the AL, according to CBSSports.com and MLB.com.
CBSSports.com’s Mike Axisa writes about Yesavage in part, “There’s a long way to go between now and then, but given what we know right now, Yesavage has to be considered the 2026 Rookie of the Year frontrunner.”
MLB.com picked the top rookie for each team and said about Yesavage, “His World Series dominance has already made him a borderline household name across two countries, thanks to a splitter that is already one of the most effective in the Majors.
