The Texas Rangers are chasing two things in September … a spot in the postseason and some collectible cards.
ECU baseball alum Shawn Armstrong is among those on the Rangers who have taken to the hobby. The Dallas Morning News did an interesting story on the baseball players and their collectibles. Armstrong even had an old card of current manager Bruce Bochy when he was a 21-year-old at Class A in Dubuque, Iowa. It’s even autographed.
Armstrong told the newspaper’s Shawn McFarland he has rare and autographed football, basketball and soccer cards.
“It’s really cool because it really does bring us all together,” Armstrong said. “We’re sitting around, we’re talking, we’re seeing what everyone is getting. There’s excitement whenever someone pulls a pretty sick card. You’re never rooting against each other.”
