ECU alum and Miami Marlins third baseman Connor Norby will start his rehab in a familiar location.
The Marlins announced Wednesday that Norby will begin his injury rehabilitation assignment with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. His first game is Wednesday at the Worcester Red Sox at 6:45 p.m.
Norby was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 13 with left wrist inflammation. He has played in 72 games with the Marlins this season, batting .241 with 11 doubles, one triple, six home runs and 26 RBIs.
He joined Jacksonville in 2024 after being traded from the Baltimore Orioles. He played in 94 games between Jacksonville and the Norfolk Tides, Triple-A affiliate of the Orioles. He hit 17 home runs in the minors before Miami called him up to the majors.
Norby is one of 12 Marlins to be on rehab assignment in 2025.
