Pirates in CFL: Justin Hardy has second straight two TD game, another win

by | Aug 10, 2025

A big night for ECU football alum and upcoming Hall of Fame inductee Justin Hardy helped the Ottawa Red Blacks to a win over the defending Grey Cup champions in Week 10 of the CFL season.

Hardy had two touchdown catches and finished with seven receptions for 106 yards in Ottawa’s 46-42 win over Toronto. His two scores not only gave Ottawa the lead but extended it to enough so that a late Toronto comeback was negated.

It was the second straight week Hardy had two touchdown catches. Had four catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-11 win over Calgary in Week 9. He scored both touchdowns in the first half and had a catch that led to a field goal as Ottwa scored 17 second-quarter points to lead 17-3 at the half.

For the season, Hardy now has 44 catches for 549 yards and five touchdowns, all among the CFL leaders.

Here’s what the ECU alum did this week in the CFL.

  • DaShaun Amos, DB, Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Two tackles in 41-38 loss to British Columbia Lions. Ended a six-game win streak. He has 21 tackles for the season and one interception.
  • Stanley Bryant, OL, Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Returned to the starting lineup after missing three games with an ankle injury. Calgary beat Winnipeg, 28-27.

  • Tyler Snead, WR, Montreal Alouettes: Had seven catches for 50 yards in 23-22 loss to Edmonton. He has 45 catches for 578 yards and a touchdown for the season.
  • Jeremy Lewis, Edge, British Columbia Lions: Two special-team tackles in 41-38 win over Hamilton. Has three total tackles for the season.
  • Hampton Ergle, OL, Toronto Argonauts: Has played in one game this season.
  • Parker Moorer, OL, Ottawa Red Blacks: Played in 46-42 win over Toronto. Has played in two games this season.
