Justin Hardy’s two first-half touchdowns spark Ottawa to victory

by | Aug 1, 2025

It was the kind of game Justin Hardy had wanted to have, both for himself and his team.

His two first-half touchdowns sparked the Ottawa Redblacks to a 31-11 win over the Calgary Stampede. It was Ottawa’s first home win of the season and ended a four-game slide.

“I think everybody knew what we had going on coming off the bye week,” Hardy told SportsNet.ca. “The first phase of the season didn’t go as planned.

“We just wanted to flush that, come out and get started 1-0 and we prepared that way and came out with a win.”

Hardy finished with four catches for 62 yards. He caught a 15-yard pass that set up an Ottawa field goal. His first touchdown was for 15 yards and the second was for 12. Ottawa had a 17-3 halftime lead and never looked back.

Ottawa improved to 2-6 while Calgary dropped to 5-3.
