East Carolina’s baseball team is adding a transfer portal player with some experience in the AAC.
Carlos Jacome, an infielder who played this past season at South Florida, has committed to play for the Pirates in 2026. He is originally from Venezuela and also played at Miami Dade College.
The rising junior batted .309 (50 for 162) with nine doubles, two triples, four homers, 24 runs and 34 RBI in his only season at USF. He only struck out 27 times. His last game was against ECU in the AAC Tournament. He batted 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI in a loss to the Pirates.
His addition is big for several reasons, but also because he gave the Pirates fits when South Florida played them. He had season highs in hits (3), doubles, triples and stolen bases (one each) against ECU.
