The San Francisco Giants were part of a blockbuster trade that got Boston star Rafael Devers on Sunday.
The Giants parted ways with one of their top pitching prospects in left-hander Kyle Harrison. The question now that the move has been made is whether it opens the door further for East Carolina alum Carson Whisenhunt to reach the majors.
Whisenhunt’s strong season at Triple-A Sacramento made the trade possible, according to NBCSportsBayArea.com’s Alex Pavlovic. Whisenhunt, also a left-hander, is 7-4 with a 4.10 ERA in 14 starts with 71 strikeouts in 79 innings.
