by | Jun 14, 2025

ECU football alum Tyler Snead had four catches for 117 yards, including a 71-yarder, as Montreal beat Ottawa and fellow ECU alum Justin Hardy, 39-18, in CFL action on Friday.

Snead had all of his catches in the second quarter, when Montreal jumped to a 19-6 halftime lead. He had his 71-yard catch from quarterback Davis Alexander with 7:49 left in the first half. A horse collar tackle penalty was called, setting up a touchdown.

After an interception on Ottawa’s next series, Snead caught a 35-yard shovel pass with 2:48 left in the half that set up a field goal for the Alouettes. Snead also had a five-yard catch with 1:09 left in the half and a 12-yard catch to start the second quarter.

Alexander finished with 344 yards and a touchdown as Montreal improved to 2-0. Alexander improved to 6-0 as a starting QB for Montreal.

Hardy was held to two catches for 20 yards. He had 133 yards on eight catches and a touchdown in last week’s loss to Saskatchewan.

Ottawa is now 0-2 on the season.
