Harold Varner III finishes 18th at LIV Golf Virginia event

by | Jun 9, 2025

Harold Varner III had another solid round at the LIV Golf Virginia event. So did a lot of other golfers.

The East Carolina golf alum shot -3 to finish at -7, good enough for 18th, at the three-day event at the Robert Trent Jones Club in Gainesville, Va. Joaquin Niemann was among those who had an even bigger day as he fired a -8 to finish at -15 and win the tournament by one shot over Graeme McDowell.

Varner had birdies on No. 1, 5, 9, 12 and 14  and bogeys on No. 8 and No. 15.

Varner’s team, 4Aces GC, bounced back with a big day on Sunday to finish second overall. Crushers GC (-36) held on for a two-shot win over the 4Aces GC team of Varner, Dustin Johnson, Thomas Pieters and Patrick Reed, which finished at -34.
