A new report on social media has East Carolina parting ways with its hitting coach.
Kendall Rogers, co-owner of D1Baseball.com, reports on his X page that ECU “has a hitting coach vacancy as the program parted ways with assistant Henri Lartigue, I’m told. There is one name in particular I’ve heard in relation to this job that really has my interest. Would be a really good hire for the Pirates.”
The school and its coaches had not posted any news of the move as of 11 a.m. on Friday.
According to his bio on the ECUPirates.com website, Lartigue was named assistant coach and hitting coach in August of 2023. He previously was a student assistant at Ole Miss in 2022 when the Bulldogs won the national championship over Oklahoma.
The Pirates batted .278 as a team (555-for-1,997) this past season. Five players batted .299 or better: Braden Burress (.391), Braxton Tramel (.345), Jack Herring (.305), Dixon Williams (.304) and Austin Irby (.299).
