DALLAS – Alex BoucheEthan NorbyColby WallaceDixon Williams and Ethan Young have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team, according to a release by the organization Tuesday afternoon.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

The quintet of Pirate honorees has combined to help East Carolina win three-straight ABCA and American Athletic Conference Team Academic Excellence Awards. ECU has captured both honors nine-consecutive years overall.

The Pirates secured their fourth American Athletic Conference Tournament title this season and advanced to the NCAA Conway Regional final with two victories over nationally ranked Florida. East Carolina has now played in a regional final in six consecutive seasons.

Bouche, who owns a sparking 3.96 grade point average as a communication major, started 53 of 56 games played this season and finished with a .253 batting average, 26 runs scored, nine doubles, a triple, six home runs and 29 RBI.

Norby finished out his sophomore campaign with a 3.92 GPA and is working toward a degree in communication. He compiled a 3.80 earned run average and led the team with eight wins while also striking out 119 batters against just 22 walks in 90.0 innings of work. Norby was tabbed to both the All-American Athletic Conference Second Team and NCAA Conway Regional All-Tournament Team and was named National Pitcher of the Week by Perfect Game and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association following his 19-strikeout performance against current NCAA Super Regional qualifier Coastal Carolina back on March 7th. His 119 strikeouts put him in a tie for fourth with Larry Crayton (1961) on the program single season Top 10 list.

Wallace sports a 3.78 GPA as a sport management major and was selected to the All-AAC First Team as a utility player as well as the AAC All-Tournament Team. He hit .270 with 46 runs scored, 10 doubles, 10 home runs and 20 walks drawn while committing just two errors as the Pirates’ every day third baseman. Wallace also made 13 appearances on the mound, posted three saves and struck out 11 batters in 12.2 frames.

Williams boasts a 3.75 GPA as a marketing major. Along with Wallace, he was one of two East Carolina position players to start all 60 games and finished the year hitting .304 with 61 runs scored, 12 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 51 RBI, 48 walks drawn and 22 stolen bases. Williams was selected to the AAC All-Tournament Team after logging five hits and seven runs scored.

Young, who owns a 3.59 GPA as a communication major, developed into the Pirates’ top reliever. He went 5-0 with a 3.84 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 70.1 innings while adding three saves. Young registered multiple strikeouts in all but three of his 23 appearances, posting a season-high 10 in ECU’s victory over William & Mary March 15th.
