The CFL season begins this week with great anticipation. Can Toronto repeat? Will Winnipeg send East Carolina alum and OL Stanley Bryant out with a Grey Cup title before he retires?
PFF.com has been ranking nearly every position going into this week’s season opener. One area they’ve focused on is at wide receiver. It’s a position that features two ECU alumni: Ottawa’s Justin Hardy and Montreal’s Tyler Snead.
PFF.com ranked Hardy as the top five receivers in the league heading into the season. He had 97 catches for 1,343 yards and five touchdowns, a 13.8-yard average. He was also second in explosive receptions (44) and yards after the catch (461).
When it comes to the receiving corps, Ottawa was ranked third by PFF.com.
Snead was injured last season and was limited to 24 catches for 253 yards and no touchdowns, a 10.5-yard average. PFF.com said Snead provided depth to the Allouettes and “continues to be a reliable secondary target.”
