NCAA.com: ECU one of seven lower seeds that could pull off regional upset

by | May 30, 2025

The NCAA baseball tournament gets underway around the country on Friday. That includes East Carolina’s game with Florida in the Conway Regional.

NCAA.com has been tracking the buildup to the regionals and reporting on the teams that could pull off an upset in each regional. Lawrence Price picked seven lower seeds that could do just that, with East Carolina being one of those teams.

Price wrote in part, “Between ECU’s four-game winning streak and past NCAA tournament experience, seven straight appearances with two Super Regional trips, expect a strong showing in Conway.”

Does that mean the Pirates, the No. 3 seed at Conway, have the ability to pull off the upset? Guess we’ll see starting at noon on Friday.
