Pirates in baseball: Jeff Hoffman gets 11th save for Blue Jays

by | May 27, 2025

Jeff Hoffman was back to his normal self in Monday’s 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers.

The East Carolina baseball alum picked up his 11th save of the season for the Toronto Blue Jays. He also helped lock down a win for starting pitcher Kevin Gausman.

Gausman pitched eight innings, giving up a run on five hits with six strikeouts. The lone run was a homer. After a strong outing, the ball was turned over to Hoffman for the first time since he blew a save on May 22.

Hoffman forced all three batters to fly out to close out the game and save.

See below to find out what the rest of the Pirates in baseball did on Monday. The minor leagues were off on Monday.
