The NC State football team apparently isn’t that interested in playing Appalachian State either.
The two teams were slated to play this fall, but NCSU paid ASU $300,000 to move the game to 2028. According to On3.com’s The Wolfpacker, head coach Dave Doeren has reasons for not playing the game at all.
“The conference doesn’t want us to play G5 road games. That was out of the commissioner’s mouth. And, so, unfortunately a contract was signed when it shouldn’t have been. That’s just the way it is. … I don’t know if the game’s going to happen there or not going to happen.”
ECU goes to NC State on Aug. 28 to open the season.
