There’s one more week in the UFL regular season. Week 7 proved to be an interesting one for former East Carolina football stars playing for the Arlington Renegades.
The Renegades dropped their third straight game on Saturday, 25-24, to the Michigan Panthers. The loss came after both teams combined for 28 points in the fourth quarter, including 16 by Michigan to rally for the win.
— Holton Ahlers did come in and rush for four yards on one play. Garrett McGhin started on the offensive line but left with an injury after returning to the lineup from another injury. Isaiah Winstead had one catch for eight yards. He now has 22 catches for 224 yards on the season.
— Former J.H. Rose High School star Cornell Powell had the best week with five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s 32-24 win over the San Antonio Brahmas. The Defenders improved to 5-2 with the win and are tied with the St. Louis Battlehawks for the best record in the XFL division.
— Former ECU coach Skip Holtz led the Birmingham Stallions to a 33-25 win over the Houston Roughnecks. Birmingham, the defending UFL champs, is tied with Michigan for first in the USFL division.
