He picked up his seventh save of the season in a 5-3 win by the Toronto Blue Jays over the Cleveland Guardians. He got out of a bit of a jam to preserve the victory.
The Blue Jays scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Hoffman then came on in the ninth to lock it up. He got the first out on a pop up but walked Nolan Jones before recording the second out on a strikeout. Steven Kwan then doubled to put runners on second and third with two outs.
Hoffman then got Gabriel Arias to ground out to end it. Hoffman lowered his ERA to 1.10 with the outing.
Of the Blue Jays’ 16 wins this season, Hoffman has had a direct hand in 10 of them with three wins and the seven saves.
