ECU alums Zach Agnos and Carter Spivey each picked up saves for their respective teams during minor league play on Thursday.
Pitching for the Albuquerque Isotopes, Agnos got his second save of the season in his team’s 11-8 win. He did give up a solo homer in the ninth inning, but settled down to close things out in 1.2 innings of work. His ERA is now at 2.25.
Spivey pitched to two batters for Akron in a 6-3 win over Erie. Spivey walked a batter but got the final out when he tagged Jim Jarvis trying to score.
It was Spivey’s first save and lowered his ERA to 6.7.

Pitching in his second game of the season, ECU alum Josh Grosz got the win in a 5-1 decision over Wilmington.
Grosz went 5.1 innings, gave up a run on two hits, walked one and struck out nine. The run he gave up was a solo homer. He is now 1-0 on the season with a 3.52 ERA.
ECU alum Josh Moylan also played at third base but went 0-for-4.
