ECU alum and CFL veteran Stanley Bryant has been around pro football long enough to know when to face reality.
He’s played 14 seasons and through 219 games, including 14 playoff games and seven Grey Cups. So he obviously knows about success and what it takes to get there.
Late last week, he was at a CFL photo shoot in Canada and gave his assessment of this season’s team.
“We can still be really good,” Bryant said, according to BlueBombers.com. “Yes, we lost some key guys, but we signed (Jerreth) Sterns from Sask, Reggie White, Jr., (Peyton) Logan, (Dillon) Mitchell on offence, and we signed some really good pieces on ‘D’ as well. We’ve just got to put it all together.
“I’m not sure a lot of people believe in us right now and that’s OK. We’ve heard a bit of that for the last few years, anyway. I know as long as we put the work in and handle adversity — and adversity will happen — we’ll be able to have another great season and hopefully have a chance to win a Grey Cup in Winnipeg.”
The season starts June 5.
