The Miami Marlins wrapped up their first week of spring training. ECU alum and third baseman Connor Norby along with ECU alum and manager Clayton McCullough agree it’s been a busy one.
Pitchers and catchers began workouts last week, with the rest of the team joining on Monday.
“This is the hardest I’ve worked in spring training for sure, and we are only a couple days in, really. This is a new era of Miami Marlins baseball. We are going to work hard and play baseball the right way. It’s putting in those foundations for us, those building blocks,” Norby said to WPBF.
“We realized what we were going to put them through was going to be intensive and we wanted to come out and start a good tone in camp with effort and baserunning will be important for us,” said McCullough.
The Marlins square off against the St. Louis Cardinals and another ECU alum, Alec Burleson, on Saturday in the spring training opener.
