What future plans do Ravens have for Keaton Mitchell?

by | Jan 30, 2025

The Super Bowl is set between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Once again, the Baltimore Ravens are not involved.

Fans are still reeling from the team’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, the team the Chiefs beat in the AFC Championship. New York Times writer Jeff Zrebiec points out the moves the Ravens have made since the loss, including signing 11 players to reserve/future contracts.

Cuts to around 20 players will have to be made by General Manager Eric DeCosta and plans are in place for the NFL draft. Zrebiec took a look at the current roster to see who stays and who may go. That includes ECU alum and running back Keaton Mitchell.

Mitchell is second on Zrebiec’s “Depth pieces” list. He writes in part, “Mitchell never got much of an opportunity in 2024, but it was a win that he even made it back on the field. Another offseason to get over mental and physical hurdles from a horrific knee injury could be pivotal.”

So it sounds like Mitchell is safe. Maybe we’ll learn more down the road why he didn’t see nearly as much action on the field this season as fans would have liked.
