East Carolina volleyball adds transfer trio to 2025 roster

Brooklyn Allison, Kai Bailey and Sloane Woolwine have declared their commitment to compete for the East Carolina volleyball program and have joined the squad for the 2025 spring semester.

The newcomers join eight returning players from a 2024 team that produced a 19-10 overall record and 11-5 American Athletic Conference mark before serving as a National Invitational Volleyball Championship First Round and Super 16 host for the second consecutive campaign. The Pirates finished third in the league standings, marking their best placement since joining the conference prior to the 2014 season.

Brooklyn Allison | Defensive Specialist/Libero | 5-6 | Junior | Birmingham, Ala. (UAB)

  • Spent her first two collegiate seasons at fellow American Athletic Conference member UAB
  • Amassed 503 digs (317 as a sophomore) 68 assists and 22 service aces as a Blazer
  • Slotted sixth in The American in digs per set (3.52) in 2024
  • Logged double-digit digs in 19 matches as a sophomore – including a career-high 27 in UAB’s five-set win over Jacksonville State
  • Registered 19 digs in three sets versus East Carolina back on Nov. 13 while posting 15 in the AAC Tournament quarterfinals against No. 1 seed South Florida
  • Notched three aces in a match versus SMU on Oct. 27, 2023
  • Attended Spain Park High School where she was a AVCA Second Team All-American and the All-South Metro Defensive Player of the Year in 2022
  • Tabbed to the AVCA Phenom List and to the AHSVCA All-State Team in 2021

Kai Bailey | Middle Blocker | 6-2 | Junior | Atlanta, Ga. (UTSA)

  • Played her first two collegiate seasons at fellow American Athletic Conference member UTSA
  • Collected 201 kills, a .301 hitting percentage and 106 total blocks as a Roadrunner
  • Ranked fifth in The American in blocks per set (1.12) and 10th in hitting percentage (.302) in 2024
  • Tallied a season-best eight blocks twice – in a five-set win over 2024 AAC regular season champion South Florida (Oct. 27) and a four-set victory over 2024 AAC Tournament champion Wichita State in the season finale (Nov. 17)
  • Attended Collins Hill High School where she picked up a pair of all-region and all-county selections
  • Posted 221 kills and a .402 hitting percentage with 24 blocks, 78 digs and 13 aces as a prep senior

Sloane Woolwine | Defensive Specialist/Libero | 5-6 | Sophomore | Wilmington, N.C. (Florida Atlantic)

  • Played her freshman season on the beach volleyball team at FAU
  • Tabbed to the 2024 Conference USA All-Freshman Team and 2023-24 Commissioner’s Honor Roll
  • Notched 11 victories, including six on court two
  • Made her collegiate debut against No. 12 Georgia State and tallied a 2-0 victory
  • Earned ranked wins over No. 12 Georgia State, No. 14 Florida International, No. 17 South Carolina and No. 18 Arizona State
  • Attended New Hanover High School where she was a four-year letterwinner in soccer and two-year letterwinner in volleyball
  • Named to the 2022 NCVBCA All-Region Team and was an All-State nominee as well as the Coastal Preps Newcomer of the Year
  • Finished her senior season with 279 kills, 83 aces and 234 digs
