“Those Jones boys” will be staying in Arizona next season.
ECU alum Zay Jones signed a one-year contract extension to stay with the Arizona Cardinals, it was announced on Tuesday. Jones signed with the Cardinals after playing the 2023 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jones sat out the first five games of the 2024 season after the NFL suspended him after a domestic violence situation. When Jones returned, he had eight catches for 84 yards, including four catches for 46 yards in the season finale with the San Francisco 49ers.
In nine NFL seasons with Buffalo, Las Vegas, Jacksonville and Arizona, he has 295 catches for 3,112 yards with 18 touchdowns.
Just before the 2024 season finale, the Cardinals signed Zay’s brother, linebacker Vi Jones. The two will now be able to play together. Vi Jones played at USC and NC State before landing with the Seattle Seahawks in 2022.
