The Colorado Rockies organization has recognized ECU alum Zach Agnos.
On Monday, the team announced he had been named the winner of the Rick Mathews Pitcher of the Year Award. It’s given to the top minor league pitcher within the organization.

He spent 2024 pitching for the Spokane and Hartford, totaling an 8-3 record and a 1.38 ERA with 17 saves and four holds in 52.1 innings. He gave up 12 runs, eight earned, on 30 hits with 63 strikeouts and 11 walks. Batters hit .162 against him.
He’s had four appearances in Spring Training before Monday’s game with the Anaheim Angels. He has given up a run, which was unearned, with a strikeout in four innings.
