The Colorado Rockies have a bevy of talent just waiting for a chance to make it in Major League Baseball. Among those is ECU alum Zach Agnos.
MLB.com’s Thomas Harding wrote in his Rockies Beat newsletter about the abundance of talent in the organization. Several players were called up to Spring Training before eventually being sent back to their minor league teams. That includes Agnos, who was among the last sent back to the minors.
Agnos already has a save for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes after being promoted from Double-A Hartford. Now, he’ll likely stay there and hone his skills with the hope of joining the Rockies later in the season.
In fact, Harding believes Agnos is among several players who could make that jump to the majors sooner rather than later. He wrote in part, “He needs to get some experience at altitude, so Triple-A will do him good. He can learn some adjustments because eventually, we want him pitching late in games.”
