On Wednesday, we got the chance to hear more from the Pirates about the season opener at home with Norfolk State.
We had more comments from Head Coach Mike Houston, defensive end Chad Stephens and linebacker Mike Edwards.
“The excitement much outweighs anything else. I’m just ready for our team to go play,” Houston said. “They’ve worked very hard for the past, you know, eight, nine, ten months.
“We’ve worked very hard since last November. So there’s a lot of excitement around getting to play again. You know, for our guys, I probably got to temper myself on Saturday that I don’t get them, you know, too over the top before we kick off. But I promise you they’ll be excited to play Saturday.”
