Watch: Alec Burleson’s future is bright for Cardinals, could be at 1B in ’25

by | Sep 30, 2024

ECU Aum Alec Burleson is one of the young faces on this year’s team who will make a bigger impact in 2025.

Burleson finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-1, on Sunday.

“It was a good year overall. I’ve got to get better producing down the stretch. But overall, I’m happy about it,” Burleson said.

Also, on Monday, Sportsnaut.com reports the Cardinals are reportedly moving on from first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and ECU Alum Alec Burleson could be on the move to the infield in 2025

The report states, “By moving Burleson to first base, you open up a space in a crowded Cardinals outfield. He’s also played 38 career games at first base in his first three seasons with St. Louis.”
