Strong finish nets Harold Varner III tie for 7th at LIV Golf event

On Sunday, ECU alum Harold Varner III had his best outing in the final round of the LIV Golf Adelaide in Australia.

Varner shot a 3-under-par to finish at 6-under-par. The finish allowed him to end in a five-way tie for seventh place. He picked up $470,500 with his finish.

Varner posted the news on his social media accounts, saying Thank you, Adelaide! Solid week—T7 finish! Pumped on the progress but already locked in for the next event. Let’s go!”

Joaquin Niemann produced the day’s only bogey-free round, shooting a 7-under 65 to finish with a 13 under total for a three-shot victory over Carlos Ortiz.

Varner’s 4Aces GC team finished in a tie for fifth at 9-under. Varner, Dustin Johnson, Thomas Pieters and Patrick Reed combined to shoot 9-under on Sunday.
