With age comes wisdom and recognition.
East Carolina University alum and CFL offensive lineman Stanley Bryant is now officially the oldest non-kicker in the league. 3DownNation.com says Bryant, who turns 39 on May 7, wants to play with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers until he’s at least 40. That would take him through the 2026 season.
The youngest player currently in the CFL is Dreydon Hall, a linebacker for Winnipeg. He’s 23, 16 years Bryant’s younger. The CFL draft is Tuesday, so it’s possible Winnipeg could get someone even younger.
“I never expected to go this long. It’s one of those things that I stuck with and things just worked itself out,” Bryant told 3DownNation. “When I first heard of the CFL, I didn’t know much about it. I came up here, (I was on practice roster) for a year, then got a chance to play finally and just kept playing.”
