ECU alum Alec Burleson may not have a hit yet in Spring Training. However, he has driven in a run.
The Cardinals star played first base in Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. He batted 0-for-2 but did drive in his team’s first run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
Burleson also sat down for an interview with TV station KDSK. You can watch that in the above video. He was also on a funny video posted from the St. Louis Cardinals with him and a green screen.
The Cardinals are now 1-3 in Spring Training.
Carter Spivey sees first action
ECU alum Carter Spivey saw action on the mound for the first time in Spring Training for the Cleveland Guardians.
He came in to pitch in the ninth inning and struck out Jimmy Herron in the Guardians’ 9-6 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers challenged a pitch from Spivey that was called as a third strike but lost it.
Spivey also got two flyouts before the strikeout.
