Casey Lundquist updates fans on the Cougars’ opponents during the season. BYU was off last Saturday and got the chance to watch ECU up close in its 38-0 win over Coastal Carolina. The Pirates host BYU this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (ESPN2).
In addition to the win, BYU learned:
— ECU had its first road shutout since beating Duke in 2000
— ECU had its first shutout overall since 2023
SI.com also points out:
— Coastal Carolina is not very good, scoring just seven points against FBS opponents Virginia and ECU and putting up just 13 points against in-state foe Charleston Southern.
“East Carolina is no slouch and they are going to be BYU’s first real test of the 2025 season,” Lundquist writes.
