Shavon Revel could be Cowboys’ breakout star when he’s healthy

by | Jul 13, 2025

Rookies in the NFL are an interesting bunch.

Some can make immediate impacts while others take longer to adjust to the schedule, style of play and expectations. USA Today’s Touchdown Wire took a look at a rookie from each team who could buck the system and make an immediate impact.

Dallas Cowboys reporter K.D. Drummond chose Shavon Revel as the player who could make the most impact. While it’s likely he’ll start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, when he does return — likely in October — many believe he’ll catch on quickly.

Drummond wrote in part, “Once he makes it to the field though, fans shouldn’t be surprised if he’s one of the better rookie DBs in the game.”
