James Larsen, who covers the UFL, broke the news about the former Clemson star, who played this past season for the DC Defenders. Powell caught a UFL-high seven touchdowns and helped the Defenders win the championship.
Larsen reports Powell worked out with the team on Monday, which led to the signing.
Powell has played for the Kansas City Chiefs and signed a free agent deal with the Seattle Seahawks but never made it past the practice squad before being cut. He joined the Defenders shortly after that move.
