Shawn Armstrong didn’t get a save on Tuesday. But he did get the next best thing.

He came on to pitch in the ninth inning of a 6-2 win over the Athletics. It wasn’t a save situation, but it didn’t stop Armstrong from doing his best. He struck out all three batters he faced to close the game out.

His performance dropped his ERA to 2.98 for the season.
