Pirates in baseball: Ryan McCrystal has two more hits, RBI for Daytona

Ryan McCrystal continued his hot June with two more hits for Daytona in Sunday’s 7-5 loss to St. Lucie.

McCrystal, playing DH, was 2-for-4 and drove in a run to increase his batting average to .283. He doubled in the sixth inning but didn’t score. He singled in a run in the eighth to make it 7-5. He got to third as St. Lucie walked the bases loaded. However, Daytona wasn’t able to score again.

He is now batting .440 in June (11 for 25) with four runs, two doubles, a homer and 10 RBI.

Erik Ritchie

He pitched in his third game for Clearwater since being promoted from the Florida Coast League Phillies.

He didn’t pitch in the first game of a doubleheader vs. Tampa, a 6-3 win by Clearwater. He pitched in the second game, a 4-3 loss in 10 innings. He pitched two innings, giving up two hits and striking out three.

He dropped his ERA to 10.80 and has a 3.38 ERA in June.
